Has anyone here successfully re-ignited a match? Anything on a larger scale than that?

Pyrokinesis is very interesting, the only thing i could do is to move a flame, and i am a newbie, i never tried to ignite a match, but i think that whit lots of practice you can. This should help you:

QUOTE
The best way to develope and train your Pyrokinesis skills is a technique called the dancing flame. Get in a relaxed position, and grab a match. Light the match on fire and focus on the flame. Create a "tunnel" between you and the flame. Now visualize the flame going out. You must be focusing on only the flame. With enough will power, and hard concentration, the flame will go out. Putting a flame or fire out is the easiest part of Pyrokinesis. Making the flame or fire relight is the hard part. Once you can make the flame burn out, Focus on the flame relighting. After a few weeks of doing this, you will notice that once the flame is out, you will be able to see the ember start to turn red again as though it wanted to relight. Once you practice enough, it will relight. This is the easiest way to develope and train Pyrokinesis. This techique DOES WORK!! I started out a year ago by practicing the dancing flame, and now I can make a decent sized fire dim down and go out just by a wave of the hand. Then I can relight small parts of it.

I've learned to light candles and matches by examining their atomic structures and how fire affects them somewhat extensively. By channeling will more directly and in smaller amounts through manipulating the atomic structures of things, you'll find it takes much less energy to manipulate things.

Example: Fire and heat affect objects by speeding up the speed that their atoms move. By focusing only on the object, we are focusing on ALL the atoms at once! By focusing on a group of atoms, we can heat a specific area over the amount you want, and allow it to move and consume the rest of the object. You can even regulate the speed it spreads by channeling your energy faster or slower.

I'll go into more detail in a separate post later. This is just intended to "spark" (bad pun, sorry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) your interest in the idea. After looking through so many 'general' views on how to affect objects with your bodies energy, I think this method could possibly help us achieve greater things as compared to things on a smaller scale due to the amount of energy wasted trying to affect a much much larger object.

I don't know if this is considered pryokinesis, but last 4th of July I made every firework, of the finale, go off once they were lit. I manipulated the wind and did what I call "the firechicken." I have no idea if thats a real term; I got the name from a friend. It was pretty cool seeing all the fireworks blow up all over the ground.

Well if the wind was what you were focusing on that would be atmokinesis wouldn't it? The manipulation of the air, the wind, the atmosphere... neat trick though:P

I didnt re-ignite a match but rather ignited a pile of hay,the dancing flame is a good excercise of pyrokenisis and I do it on a regular bases with good results,I can shape the flame according to my will, duplicate the flame where it becomes two flames, make the flame longer, shorter, move it right, left,up,down and lately i have been able to extinguish it.I am born in a firey house, yet that's not the norm, usually people find themselves connected to an element more than the other regardless what house they are born in,I find Fire to be my closest element,Earth is the hardest and densist to move but with excercise and devotion nothing is impossible,Air is the lightest and therefore easist to move ,for those unsuccesful with pyrokenisis try working with the Air element, then with fire, then water, then earth, weather magick can be so helpfull.

Good luck

How do you begin to work with any element? How do you discover which one (or more) you're most tied to?

I manipulate flames, but I've never ignited one. I am a practitioner of elemental magick, but I'm not quite at this level... I use a lot of pyrokinesis in the astral realm (barriers, self-defense), but I'm not a huge fan of using fire to do anything more than heat myself up on a cold day on this plane - something about it and I don't really click and I have a hard time doing it - even manipulating the flame takes more focus for me than manipulating a thunderhead.
