If you think there is a curse on you, that is, something particular happens every time you do something, but that something particular is so extreme, inevitable and the end result so predictable, and it happens long in the period of your living, then can you say this is a curse?
Also can you identify a curse? Is it something real, or just in your head?
And finally, if you do have a curse, how can you lift it? Does the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram help with this purpose?
Thanks

There are curses and then there are life lessons.

From what I can figure out about a curse is don't let it get to you. Leave it behind, raise your vibration, your thinking and move on. The more you think about it the more it sticks around...cause you are actually doing it to yourself. Or stop upsetting the person putting the curse on you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Life lessons are more difficult in that you are supposed to learn something from the experience and if you do not it will keep repeating throughout your life. The fastest way to get rid of a lesson is too not resist it...surrender to it instead. The more you resist something the more it sticks around. IF you know what your usual response is to the situation...try changing your response. Try and change your perception of what is going on, what you are supposed to learn. Keep an eye out for animals throughout your days, there may be a spirit guide trying to teach you something.

(NOTE: This is just a few ideas for troubleshooting if methods for breaking patterns or curses do not seem to work)

Whether you are dealing with a curse, a life lesson, an entity that negatively influences your life or anything else, you need to accept responsibility for it. You may not be the cause of what happens but are partially at fault because most of this stuff requires what you do to maintain it. Once you accept responsibility for what is happening, outside influences lose influence over you at least partially and you gain more leverage in changing things.

Change your mindset. Do something fun. Hang out with positive people. Get some therapy. Meditate. Do whatever works for changing the way you think about and approach things. This will not generate instant results but will disrupt any patterns that currently occur.

If you think you are cursed, first learn to block influences from others and disconnect from them before attempting to remove it. Also learn to block yourself from inadvertently connecting to people you do not desire to connect with. This will reduce the likelihood of a curse or negative influence being reinstated after it has been removed.

Sometimes it may not be you who is cursed. Ask people you are close to if the same things happen to them, some curses and patterns will cause things to happen to those who can help the victim to escape from th curse or pattern he is stuck in in order to ensure that it is maintained. Temporarily disconnecting from or reducing your connection to people who say they deal with the same patterns or putting mutual goals on hold and observing what happens to you as a result will determine if it is indeed that person who is cursed or not. If it is, you can then help him as well as yourself.

Try doing new things in life, especially things you originally believed would not work. Changing your own patterns can disrupt and weaken the patterns that keep repeating themselves.

Never reject help even if it is offered in a way you do not like. The more people you have desiring your pattern to break, the better.

Do not tell others you are cursed unless you are sure doing so will help. If your own belief is reinforcing the pattern, the belief of others can also do so. Speaking of which, as the last person who posted said, leave it behind.

Whatever you do, do not try sending the curse back to the one who cursed you. In the majority of cases he is not watching you and sending it back will just alert him that you are no longer cursed or at least a threat to him now which will cause him to retaliate and do the same or worse to you.

If all else fails, take what seemed to have some effect from more than one method and use them to create your own method or combine the methods you tried. What works for one person does not work for all people.

As the other posters alluded to, curses do require a bit of skepticism, just because it is easy for coincidence, a pattern of bad decision making or depression to appear curse-like. However, if these don't apply to you though, the best way to gain some control over your situation is a bit of divination, i.e. tarot or the like. If that's not in your bag of tricks there are plenty out there that could help you out with that, and if you look hard enough you can find someone who will do it for free. (I am always skeptical of psychics, especially pay by the minute.) If the result points to some negative spiritual influence, you have a number of good options.

Talismans- You can buy or make these pretty easily. If you buy one though, I recommend performing ritual to purify, dedicate and empower it, because most you buy from magickal supply sites are mass produced and so won't have powerful effect without putting something of yourself into it. Making something of your own is always the most effective, but if you don't have the practical ability to do so there is no harm in buying something. Talismans are great for protection, but probably won't solve the problem.

Lifestyle changes- the previous posters covered this pretty thoroughly. The effects of embracing more positive experiences can't be stressed enough though. Curses feed on the misery they generate and become stronger; they are sinister that way.

Cleansing / Banishing rituals- These are worth doing regularly anyway, but especially if you suspect you are cursed. Banish any negative energy from your home, your work or anywhere you spend a lot of time and cleanse yourself to wash away any lingering malign energies.

Curse breaking- There are tons of curse breaking (or reversal if you are feeling vindictive, just prepare for consequences) floating around in books and online, Finding the source of the curse (which could be yourself) would be ideal, which divination could be helpful with as well. If the source remains unknown, the techniques I would lean toward are creating a sort of magical prison for the negative energy, or something like shamanistic self defense, that is to say, overcome the dark agents through sheer power. I am sure some people will disagree with me on that last point, but it seems that curses function on a similar way to haunting.

Hopefully some of those ideas inspire you! PM me if you want more specific advice, I dealt with a similar situation not to long ago.
